Politics: The Feminist Issue-Even Palin Deserves Respect

You might say that, as of recently, my blog has become "Palin-centric." In my defense, Sarah Palin seems to be everywhere: popping up on the cover of Newsweek, People, and Time, not to mention her..."informative"...interview on ABC. Both in this blog and with my friends, I have done my fair share of Palin-bashing. I have criticized her experience, abortion stance, and lack of knowledge (really, Sarah Palin? even my grandma knows what the Bush Doctrine is.). However, I'm switching it up a bit. I'… Continue

Politics: McCain Up in Polls

I chuckled when I heard that Sen. McCain elected Sarah Palin as his running mate. I was thoroughly amused by the idea that McCain and his camp actually believed that a D.C. outsider like Sarah Palin could beat a Senate veteran like Sen. Biden. I “LOL-ed”, if you will.

Politics: Experience- Palin vs. Obama

Since day one, John McCain and his supporters have been claiming that Barack Obama is not ready to take on the role of President. They mention his young age, his lack of executive background, and his inexperience with foreign affairs. Well, last Friday those same Republicans were silenced thanks to the giant foot in their mouth.

To even compare the credentials, experience, and judgment of Barack Obama to Sarah Palin would be result in side-splitting laughter from me. Well, it would, except for… Continue

Poltiics: Sarah Palin is no Senator Clinton

Palin is Not What We Have Been Waiting For

When Sarah Palin made her acceptance speech on Friday, she finished with a tribute to two Democrat politics: Geraldine Ferraro and Hillary Clinton. Ferraro, back in ’84, was the first woman on a major party presidential ticket, when Walter Mondale named her as his running mate. Clinton, of course, has the d… Continue

High School: What I Wish I Knew as a Freshman

I have my first day of senior year tomorrow and, with that, comes a lot of lasts.
The last first day of high-school.
The last time I will roll my eyes at my mother as she insists on taking a picture of me on my first day.
The last time I will scurry to class to see if I have anyone I know is in it.

All these lasts, and more, have gotten me to think about the beginning of high-school - a time when my life was filled with firsts. Now, I don’t think I am an expert on high-school by any means, but… Continue
