This summer, I made the decision to attend the engineering scholars' program at FAU and take a web design course. I was reluctant at first thinking I would not know enough about computer languages and programming. I was also afraid I wouldn't know anybody since 75% of the program consists of Suncoast students, and I wouldn't know who to eat lunch with.
Well, all my worries turned out to be wrong, and I not only enjoyed the course immensely, but I learned so much that will help me in my journalism career, since internet news has become so dominant today. I even learned how to make
links. My knowledge of graphics and creating a good website has grown tremendously.
I worked in a small group and we all contributed our talents to make a great project. I really have had fun while learning a lot at the same time.
And as far as lunch, I was able to find some old friends from middle school and we had a blast catching up on what's going on in our lives. I even made some new friends as well.
