Myspace. Facebook. Twitter. Flickr. Tumblr.
These means of communications are keeping us from actual conversations face to face. I'm not saying they're no fun to mess with for a little while everyday, but people spend HOURS on it, all the while ignoring their homework - which is something that should be much more of a priority than updating a Twitter status. I admit, I'm getting a little addicted to my Tumblr, but I still have an idea of when I should stop and focus on studying for my midterm or any of my tests.
It's a fun thing to do when there's free time, but on a daily bases, for at least three hours a day, isn't even considered HEALTHY.
Though I also admit, I AM a bit of a hypocrite on this matter, since I neglected my studying time for at least an hour to be on my Tumblr and chatting with my friends via AIM, but all the while, I knew I should get off.
I think that's also an issue; knowing that you have to get off, but not doing it because it seems completely and utterly unappealing. I suppose the unappealing is what's good for us in this case.
Regardless of which social networking site you use, it's still best to use it in moderation - like everything else.
